SUMMARY:Palio del Torrione
DESCRIPTION:The Palio del Torrione was established in 1997. The historical reenactment draws inspiration from two elements of the town’s history: the legend of a dragon’s presence in its territory and the presence of Caterina Sforza. \nEach of the four wards into which the town is divided must designate one lady and four knights to contest the Palio. The ladies of the drawn wards ascend the castle in their respective tower\, armed with a spear they will have to pierce the dragon placed in the center of the castle. \nThe knights at the base of the castle will have to push their checkers’ tower as close to the target as possible\, hindering the advance of the opposing ward. The race is held in two heats\, in case of a tie\, a run-off will be held. The ward that has made the highest score and won the most heats wins the Palio. \nHistorical parade\, games for young and old\, events\, and several food stations. \nFor more information\, please visit www.paliodeltorrione.it and https://www.proloco-mordano.it/

SUMMARY:Romagna in Fiore in Faenza
DESCRIPTION:Romagna in Fiore returns\, the green soul of the Ravenna Festival: nine events for the third edition\, from May 1 to 24. \nCreated by the Ravenna Festival in 2024 to support the areas severely affected by the previous year’s floods\, it has already established itself as one of the most beloved and anticipated segments for the public. Eco-sustainable\, widespread\, and deeply connected to local communities\, Romagna in Fiore returns this year with a calendar of afternoon events spread across four weekends in nine different locations throughout Romagna. \nThe route once again visits Modigliana\, Faenza\, Forlì\, and Ravenna (at the Torraccia)\, also extending to Fontanelice\, Cotignola\, Santa Sofia\, Bertinoro\, and the Ca’ Carnè Refuge\, near Brisighella. \nThe performance venues are outdoor spaces accessible only on foot or by bicycle; there are no bulky stages or artificial lights\, in keeping with the philosophy of this special festival. \nThe fourth stage brings the festival back to Faenza: on Saturday\, May 9\, we return to the famous capital of ceramics\, in Castel Raniero\, a place rich in history where a heliotherapy colony was established between 1926 and 1932\, and which today also hosts the well-known folk festival La Musica nelle Aie. The stage will feature Motta\, one of the most representative singer-songwriters of the millennial generation and one of the most recognizable voices on the new Italian songwriting scene. He first caught the public’s attention ten years ago with the album La fine dei vent’anni\, a debut capable of blending a rock soul\, introspective writing\, and pop melody\, which was awarded the Targa Tenco for best debut work. \nDiscover the full program\nhttps://www.ravennafestival.org/romagna-in-fiore-iii-edizione-1-24-maggio/
