SUMMARY:Exhibition: Nordic Table Design. A Silent Women's Revolution (1900-1970)
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition scheduled from June 20 to January 10\, 2027 presents approximately forty-five women designers\, artists and intellectuals from the period between 1900 and 1970\, telling a new story of design\, made up of multiple voices\, against the backdrop of the struggle for equal rights. \nIt traces the work and working conditions of these women who\, with a humanistic and typically feminine approach to design and direct knowledge of domestic needs\, carried out a “silent revolution” in the way of conceiving the table and\, more generally\, in women’s lives. \nThey redesigned plates\, glasses\, pots and cutlery\, making them more functional and economical without ever sacrificing beauty; they experimented with new materials\, colors and shapes\, according to the principle of the Modern Movement in which “form follows function”. \nA large number of high-quality artistic pieces\, partly in production\, on loan from companies\, partly historical pieces from private collections and museums\, describes the creative activity and working conditions of seventy years of women’s design of tableware. The exhibited artifacts testify to how table design represented much more than a simple aesthetic or functional pursuit: an authentic laboratory of social experimentation\, capable of redefining domestic roles\, family relationships and cultural models. \nThere is a special connection with the Faenza Prize\, International Ceramic Art Competition: from 1964 to 1974\, the section dedicated to industrial design was active\, with honorary prizes\, gold medals from the President of the Republic\, the Senate and the Chamber. \nMany Nordic manufacturers with women designers participated consistently: among these\, numerous prizes were awarded to Grete Ronning\, Marianne Westman\, Rut Bryk\, Hertha Bengtson to mention some of the best-known names. These award-winning artifacts are part of the MIC Faenza collection and will be displayed in a dedicated section of the exhibition. \nThis exhibition intends to retrace a fundamental moment in European design\, Faenza’s connection\, through essential silent protagonists. \nFrom June 23 to July 28\, at 6:00 PM\, every Tuesday guided aperitif tour of the exhibition. \nAdmission 3 euros\, in addition to the ticket price. Reservation required. The tour is held only upon reaching a minimum of 10 registered participants. \nRead more at\nwww.micfaenza.org

SUMMARY:GenerAzioni
DESCRIPTION:From September 19 to October 11\, 2026\, Imola comes alive with a rich and widespread calendar of events\, readings\, workshops\, and meetings with authors\, hosted in various locations across the city. A program designed for children\, teenagers\, adults\, and families\, with the aim of bringing diverse audiences closer to the pleasure of reading and creating opportunities for discussion through books\, stories\, and words. \n\nAt the heart of GenerAzioni is the idea that reading can become a shared space\, capable of connecting different generations\, fostering the exchange of experiences and points of view\, and strengthening the sense of community. The events of the festival thus offer opportunities to discover new authors and stories\, participate in activities\, and experience culture in an open and participatory way. \n\nThe festival is coordinated by the Biblioteca comunale di Imola and realized together with the partners of the Patto per la Lettura di Imola\, thanks to the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola.

SUMMARY:Feast of Forgotten Fruits of Casola Valsenio
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition market of autumn products and ancient fruits. \nThe Forgotten Fruits Festival of Casola Valsenio returns\, the traditional event dedicated to the rediscovery of those fruits that are no longer in common use. \nDuring the second and third weekends of October (10-11 and 17-18)\, farmers from Casola display autumn fruits harvested from ancient plants\, in a setting that evokes the cultural and folkloric aspects of rural life from the past. \nThe protagonists will be them: medlars\, azeroles\, sorbs\, avellanes\, chestnuts\, strawberry trees\, dogwoods and all the other small autumn fruits\, forgotten in the transition from agricultural to industrial society. \nThe Marrone of Casola Valsenio will also be a protagonist of the Forgotten Fruits Festival. It can be purchased directly from the producers\, freshly harvested from the chestnut grove\, in an authentic zero-kilometer experience that is difficult to replicate in other places or events. \nSpecial attention will be paid to children’s entertainment; workshops in small carpentry\, cookie making\, a variety of fun activities\, and numerous street performers and musicians from all over Italy \nThere will also be an exhibition and sale of fruit plants from the past\, intended to embellish parks and gardens.\nFurthermore\, there will be shows\, exhibitions\, and tastings. \nFor information\nproloco.casolavalsenio@gmail.com\nwww.proloco-casolavalsenio.blogspot.com\n+39 0546 73033

SUMMARY:Chestnut Festival
DESCRIPTION:This year marks a special anniversary: 70 years have passed since the first edition of a festival that represents the roots\, history\, and identity of our territory. \nThe Marrone di Castel del Rio IGP is a fruit whose origins date back to the Middle Ages\, when chestnut groves were called “bread trees” due to their importance in the local diet.\nOver the centuries\, chestnut cultivation has sustained the economic life of the valley\, leading to the foundation of the Consorzio Castanicoltori in 1985. Today\, this unique product is IGP certified and stands as the symbol of a tradition that continues to thrive thanks in part to our Sagra. \nWhen: October 11 – 18 – 25\, 2026 and November 1\, 2026\nIn the square\, you will find the Casetta dei Dolci\, the traditional Market\, Chestnut Beer\, and the legendary Bruciati tossed in large pans by our Marronai\, the guardians of a centuries-old tradition. \nFOR REQUESTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CREATIVE MARKET\, PLEASE WRITE TO: mercati@prolococasteldelrio.it \nFOR GENERAL INFORMATION\, PLEASE WRITE TO: info@prolococasteldelrio.it \n
