SUMMARY:Pentecost Festival
DESCRIPTION:Ancient religious and civic celebration.\nThe Pentecost Festival is a town square celebration whose origins (1631 A.D.) stem from a vow made by the people of Castel Bolognese to the Madonna of the Conception for protection from the plague. \nThe festival has a unique origin. In 1630\, a terrible plague ravaged Romagna. However\, it is said that thanks to the intervention of the Madonna of the Conception\, the town of Castel Bolognese was miraculously spared from the misfortune.\nThe citizens turned to her in those days with heartfelt supplications and devout prayers. \nOn June 15 of that same year\, to preserve the memory of the Grace received\, the people of Castel Bolognese made a unique popular vow: during the three days of Pentecost\, the miraculous Sacred Image of the Conception would be celebrated every year. \nOver the centuries\, the popular celebration has never lost its original character. Indeed\, the religious meaning that inspires these festive days has always been maintained. \nToday\, the Pentecost Festival is an event that combines local culture with musical performances featuring nationally renowned artists\, as well as an excellent food stand where Romagna cuisine takes center stage. \nThe five days of Pentecost\, from May 21 to 25\, 2026\, transform the renovated Piazza Bernardi and the historic center of Castel Bolognese into the heart of Romagna tradition with a program of events that never ceases to amaze. \nPDF – DOWNLOAD DETAILED PROGRAM \nFor more information\nWebsite: http://castelbologneseproloco.blogspot.it/\nEmail: prolococastelb@libero.it

For many years\, the RNJO has been an active cultural ambassador of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis through tours in partner regions abroad. \nAn important milestone in the band’s history is the release\, in 2020\, of the studio album “Out Of the Circle\,” which features original arrangements and compositions by artists from the Rhine-Neckar region. \nThe Band Director \nSince early 2018\, Maestro Jochen Welsch from Mannheim has conducted the Rhein-Neckar Jazz Orchester. He studied jazz trombone at the conservatories of Nuremberg-Augsburg and Mannheim. DESCRIPTION:The Art of Living Slowly\n\nThe first edition of Calma e Gesso is a multisensory festival\, on a human scale\, where time remains suspended and not rigidly determined. A genuine and spontaneous approach invites you to follow the rhythms of nature and set aside the regular ticking of clocks and daily routines. A journey backward\, “from the universe of precision to the world of approximation\,” to quote philosopher Alexandre Koyré. \nThe schedule will follow nature’s rhythms: participatory activities and routes—free or guided—will begin\, as far as possible\, without phones and without satellite watches. A concert\, strictly unplugged (acoustic)\, will take place “around” sunset; departure for a trek will be “approximately” at dawn; a participatory shared lunch will arrive “more or less” when the sun is at its zenith. \nEvents capable of engaging all the senses and diverse audiences\, to bring visitors closer to a rich and unique environment and\, at the same time\, allow Park residents to experience the territory with greater awareness. \nHow to Participate \nParticipation is free and requires advance booking by completing the form available on the website www.trailromagna.eu \nThe locations are accessible via the Park’s official trails\, which will be equipped with enhanced signage for the occasion. SUMMARY:Exhibition: Nordic Table Design. A Silent Women's Revolution (1900-1970)
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition scheduled from June 20 to January 10\, 2027 presents approximately forty-five women designers\, artists and intellectuals from the period between 1900 and 1970\, telling a new story of design\, made up of multiple voices\, against the backdrop of the struggle for equal rights. \nIt traces the work and working conditions of these women who\, with a humanistic and typically feminine approach to design and direct knowledge of domestic needs\, carried out a “silent revolution” in the way of conceiving the table and\, more generally\, in women’s lives. \nThey redesigned plates\, glasses\, pots and cutlery\, making them more functional and economical without ever sacrificing beauty; they experimented with new materials\, colors and shapes\, according to the principle of the Modern Movement in which “form follows function”. \nA large number of high-quality artistic pieces\, partly in production\, on loan from companies\, partly historical pieces from private collections and museums\, describes the creative activity and working conditions of seventy years of women’s design of tableware. The exhibited artifacts testify to how table design represented much more than a simple aesthetic or functional pursuit: an authentic laboratory of social experimentation\, capable of redefining domestic roles\, family relationships and cultural models. \nThere is a special connection with the Faenza Prize\, International Ceramic Art Competition: from 1964 to 1974\, the section dedicated to industrial design was active\, with honorary prizes\, gold medals from the President of the Republic\, the Senate and the Chamber. \nMany Nordic manufacturers with women designers participated consistently: among these\, numerous prizes were awarded to Grete Ronning\, Marianne Westman\, Rut Bryk\, Hertha Bengtson to mention some of the best-known names. These award-winning artifacts are part of the MIC Faenza collection and will be displayed in a dedicated section of the exhibition. \nThis exhibition intends to retrace a fundamental moment in European design\, Faenza’s connection\, through essential silent protagonists. \nFrom June 23 to July 28\, at 6:00 PM\, every Tuesday guided aperitif tour of the exhibition. \nAdmission 3 euros\, in addition to the ticket price. Reservation required. The tour is held only upon reaching a minimum of 10 registered participants. \nRead more at\nwww.micfaenza.org

SUMMARY:Palio del Torrione
DESCRIPTION:The Palio del Torrione was established in 1997. The historical reenactment draws inspiration from two elements of the town’s history: the legend of a dragon’s presence in its territory and the presence of Caterina Sforza. \nEach of the four wards into which the town is divided must designate one lady and four knights to contest the Palio. The ladies of the drawn wards ascend the castle in their respective tower\, armed with a spear they will have to pierce the dragon placed in the center of the castle. \nThe knights at the base of the castle will have to push their checkers’ tower as close to the target as possible\, hindering the advance of the opposing ward. The race is held in two heats\, in case of a tie\, a run-off will be held. The ward that has made the highest score and won the most heats wins the Palio. \nHistorical parade\, games for young and old\, events\, and several food stations. \nFor more information\, please visit www.paliodeltorrione.it and https://www.proloco-mordano.it/

SUMMARY:La Guazza ad San Zvan
DESCRIPTION:Magical Midsummer Night\nLa Guazza ad San Zvan returns during the night of the eve of St. John the Baptist. Peasant Work organizes a series of events at various farms\, wineries\, agritourisms\, and educational farms in Romagna. \nLegend has it that “La Guazza di San Giovanni\,” by tradition\, is “present” on the night between June 23 and 24\, the time when pagan ritual (summer solstice) meets and integrates with Christian culture (birth of St. John). One belief is that on this solsticial phase of the year\, witches used to gather on this night around a very old walnut tree\, and with the fruits of these bewitched trees\, picked while still green and drenched in dew on the night of St. John’s Day\, “nocino\,” a liqueur made from the husks of walnuts\, was prepared. \nIt is also the night when\, in the countryside\, basins are filled with water and flowers or herbs such as St. John’s Wort (iperico)\, lavender\, mugwort\, sage\, mallow\, mint\, and other wildflowers and herbs.\nThe night dew makes the water magical; the following morning\, this water was used to wash one’s face and hands in a propitiatory and purifying ritual to ensure love\, luck\, and health.\nDuring the night\, it was customary to walk barefoot through dew-drenched meadows to promote fertility and ward off illness.\nThe rituals of this magical night are truly endless! \nThrough this event\, Il Lavoro dei Contadini aims to promote local products\, food\, and hospitality\, blending them with the traditions of Romagna. \nEach farm will host other agricultural businesses\, artisans\, writers\, and journalists to discuss the traditions and rituals of St. John’s Night\, such as the rite of bathing one’s feet in the dew to ward off danger\, the gathering and identification of wild herbs\, and the preparation of nocino. \nEvents for Tuesday\, June 23\, 2026\nAgriturismo Nasano\nVia Rilone 2 – loc.
