The 34th edition of this event dedicated to shallot-based gastronomy.\nScheduled for Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\, July 17/19 and 24/26\, 2026. \nScalogno di Romagna (Romagna Shallot)\, not to be confused with the French variety more commonly found in supermarkets\, is a typical product of the Province of Ravenna and more specifically of the Municipality of Riolo Terme. \nIt is an herbaceous garden plant belonging to the Liliaceae family and propagates via bulbs or\, more accurately\, bulbils. In the name of this small bulb with the high-sounding name of Allium Ascolanicum\, university researchers have mobilized\, and in 1997\, it obtained the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) which decrees its sovereign residence in this small corner of Romagna. \nUnlike other Liliaceae\, such as garlic and onion\, it has no flower. Therefore\, there is no exchange of pollen between plants\, and reproduction always occurs solely through the bulb. Its violet-white color\, distributed over its flask-like shape\, is inviting and suggests tasty summer appetizers or robust autumn preparations.
