FANTASTIKA – THE DRAGON’S FIRE

On September 19 and 20, FantastikA – The Dragon’s Fire returns, the eighth edition of the Biennial of Fantasy Illustration in the village of Dozza.
The painted village of Dozza once again takes center stage in the world of fantasy with FantastikA 2026, the event dedicated to illustration, animated cinema, and the fantasy imagination. The eighth edition, titled The Dragon’s Fire, celebrates the dragon as a symbol of strength, passion, destruction, and rebirth through exhibitions, meetings, performances, and activities for all ages.

During the event, visitors will be able to enter the universe of Fyrstan, the great dragon kept in the tower of the Rocca di Dozza, and exceptionally visit his treasure-filled lair.

The 2026 edition will bring to center stage the connection between animated cinema, fantasy, and Tolkienian imagination, with exhibitions, meetings, and creative activities. Among the main events will be Cartoons in the Castle, featuring original materials from the collection of the Accademia Nemo in Florence, and Other Minds, Other Hands – What if?, an exhibition of imaginary posters inspired by the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and created by guest illustrators.

There will also be meetings with artists, live performances, workshops, the Artist Alley in the municipal theater, and spaces dedicated to role-playing and board games, as well as the Study Center The Dragon’s Lair, a museum dedicated to Tolkienian culture.

FantastikA confirms itself as an unmissable event for lovers of art, cinema, literature, and comics, transforming Dozza into a place where history and imagination meet.
