Things to Do at Night in the Arctic Circle
19 September
As part of the GenerAzioni series, Saturday, September 19 at 6:00 PM, at the Imola Municipal Library, at via Emilia 80, an encounter with Leonardo Piccione will be held for the presentation of his latest book, Things to Do at Night in the Arctic Circle, published by Neri Pozza in 2026.
The book stems from the author’s stay on Grímsey, the most remote of the Icelandic islands, located on the Arctic Circle. In a place populated by thousands of seabirds and a tiny community of fishermen at risk of extinction, Leonardo Piccione gathers experiences, encounters, and stories of daily life.
Among walks, chess games, recipes for preparing cod, and landscapes of the far North, the stories of the people who inhabit the island above all take shape, in a narrative that accompanies the discovery of a far-off community and territory.
The initiative is organized by Bim.
