A GARDEN OF INSECTS
In collaboration with the NatuRA Visitor Center
A guided tour of the Herb Garden in the company of an expert from the Ravenna Visitor Center “NatuRa,” to discover the invertebrate species that populate the Herb Garden and the surrounding woods.
Special attention will be given, in addition to typical seasonal butterflies, to all pollinators that play an essential role in pollination such as hymenopterans, beetles, and dipterans. With a bit of luck, we will observe live: wood wasps, ladybugs, hoverflies, bees, and bumblebees. Depending on luck and soil and air humidity, we will try to observe the dung beetle, the assassin bug, or the striped bug.

GARDEN BUTTERFLIES
In collaboration with Casa delle Farfalle
A guided tour that combines the beauty of flowers and the mystery of butterflies, discovering the interconnections between these extraordinary insects and the nature that welcomes them. In the company of an expert from the Casa delle Farfalle in Milano Marittima, participants will embark on a journey through the Herb Garden, exploring the varieties of flowers that attract these fascinating insects. During the walk, it will be possible to observe butterflies in flight up close, learning to recognize the most common species and discovering their habits, life cycle, and the fundamental role they play in the ecosystem. The expert will share curiosities and anecdotes about the relationship between butterflies and flowers, offering participants a fascinating perspective on how these small creatures are essential for biodiversity and ecosystem health.

THE GARDEN’S TREASURE
A guided tour exploring the fascinating world of melliferous plants and bees, the industrious insects that produce precious honey, a symbol of nature and sweetness. The walk will lead participants through the cultivation of melliferous plants, with particular attention to the terrace dedicated to these plants, where foraging bees carry out their tireless work. During the route, you will observe up close the dance of the bees, an extraordinary behavior through which they communicate with each other, exchanging fundamental information for nectar collection. The expert will guide participants in discovering the plants that attract bees and other pollinating creatures, explaining how the garden’s biodiversity contributes to the production of quality honey. The tour will conclude with a tasting of locally produced honeys, an opportunity to savor the “golden nectar” and discover the different flavors that tell the story of the territory and its plants.
