Lôm a Merz in Imola
14 March
Light in March
Rendezvous in downtown Imola for Lôm a merz, with the great propitiatory bonfire to greet the arrival of spring.
The lighting of the traditional bonfire of “lume in March” recalls the peasant tradition of burning vine prunings in the fields. The intention was to “bring light” to spring, serving as a good omen for the harvests.
This ancient festival still preserves the custom of gathering around the bonfire, accompanied by music and local food.
Starting at 5:00 PM, with food stalls and music, visitors can enjoy local specialties and spend a pleasant afternoon enlivened by music and performances.
