The Carrera Autopodistica and the Sagra della Braciola

The highlight events of September in Castel San Pietro Terme return once again this year: the Carrera Autopodistica and the Sagra della Braciola!

The Carrera consists of a relay race where participants push special four-wheeled vehicles and their driver. The pushers take turns in two races experienced with the intensity of a Palio, with teams and fans making this sporting event truly electrifying.
The vehicles (known as ‘macchinine’ or ‘carrere’) are unique, high-tech pieces crafted from innovative materials, the result of decades of in-depth study into aerodynamics and weight distribution. The event involves hundreds of people year-round, with technical tests and dedicated training sessions all for just a few minutes of racing in September.

A traditional mutton tasting will be held throughout the day in Piazza Acquaderni.

At the Locanda della Città Slow in Parco Lungosillaro, starting from 7:00 PM, visitors can enjoy many local specialties, including tagliatelle with ragù and grilled mutton, a De.Co. certified product.
